Educational Consulting

Having received clinical training in Mind/Body Medicine from Harvard Medical School and the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind/Body Medicine, Connie speaks to classes, businesses, health care facilities, and organizations that include or want to develop a wellness program for their staff. As a presenter, Connie also discusses Integrative Medicine and the diverse modalities included in this model. She offers sessions on stress management and control through the use of techniques and technology.

The Dangers of Stress

According to the American Institute of Stress, up to 90% of all health problems are related to stress. Even thinking negative thoughts can stress the body. The average person is "hit" with approximately 55 stressors on any given day. Long term stress can lead to serious health issues such as insulin resistance, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Chronic stress promotes fat deposits, increases the risk of tumors and infections, stimulates cravings for sweets, and decreases the brain's ability to use glucose. Stress increases your heart rate and blood pressure and can lead to stroke.
