Guided Imagery
Guided Imagery is a form of meditation used to guide a person in visualizing an image in the mind to bring about a desired physical response. It is much like having a dream in an awakened state. It allows the mind and the body to speak to one another to heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Guided Imagery engages all the senses by having the mind imagine the sound, taste, smell, and feel of things in the imagery as well as what is ''seen''.
Guided Imagery allows instant access to deeply hidden issues such as fear, phobias, anger, identity, and power struggles or our defenses that stop us from being our true selves. Personal imageries can be created for almost any type of situation such as removing prior trauma, breaking habits, symptom removal, stress reduction, understanding yourself, personal growth, problem solving, relationship issues, and pain control. It also can help eliminate phobias such as fear of public speaking or singing, as well as other fears. It can be used for personal and
spiritual empowerment.
Guided Imagery has been shown by research to lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety, depression and pain, heighten the immune system, ease nausea during chemotherapy or pregnancy, speed up recovery from burns, cuts, fractures and surgery. It also improves sports performance and some kinds of cognition. It works wonderfully in helping with emotional resiliency and coping abilities, producing actual changes in the biochemistry of the body. Studies have shown that patients used one-third less pain medication and had shorter hospital stays when Guided Imagery was used prior to surgery.
Connie is also trained in IntraPersonal Imagery, which takes Guided Imagery to the next level using a six step process for the journey into self. This powerful technique is a path to gaining personal insight that can take you from a place of personal healing to personal empowerment
